I made Orin some pants out of old jeans that I have.

Mmmmm....first watermelon of the season!

Orin has been complaining that his foot is sore and I kept on looking underneath, thinking that he might have a splinter involved.  This morning he woke up and immediately showed me his foot.  I couldn't miss it this time.  Looked like spider bite to me. I took him to the pharmacy and he said I should take Orin straight to the doctor to get antibiotics.  It is really swollen and sore.

This is the happiness we wake up to every morning!  Usually at 5.00 when Logan leaves, Jesse wakes up and cuddles in bed with me.  He falls  asleep again and I get up and get started with my day.  He is happy and smiling most of the time and I love fetching him from the bed and seeing that smiley face.

Haircut time!  Thanks Logan.

Aidan gave a talk in primary today about "How I can prepare now to be a father".  He did really well.  The funny thing was that he thought his talk was for sacrament.  He complained bitterly when we told him that he can't sit on the stand and give his talk.

Jesse and Aaron, Devra's little one.  I babysat on Saturday and had fun taking a few pictures of them.  They are 10 days apart.

One of Aidan's chores is to put the clean cutlery from the dishwasher into the cutlery tray.  I guess he wasn't too enthusiastic today!

Travelling to my mom's house I saw beautiful sunflowers all along the highway.  I wondered who had planted them there and how they warmed one's heart.  Tried to take a photo and then thought better of it - 120km and 3 little ones in the car didn't make it a worthwhile option.

Flapjacks on a rainy day helped to cheer us up.

Even though it is so cold, Orin keeps on undressing! The neighbour said to me a while ago: "Shoo he loves to be n a k ed , doesn't he?"
So..flip flops and machine gun it is.

Brrr....the weather has turned cold and I am dressing the children in winter clothes! Jesse has started sucking his bottom lip and it looks like he is sad in all his photos.

5 months and rolling...over

13 November, 2009

We went to see Aidan 'perform' on Friday.  He was a little dutch boy.  The children had so much fun.  We were so proud of our boy.  He was confident and cute.

Our cat Ticks:
She has had an eventful 13 years of life.  She originally belonged to the gardener on Uncle Mike's plot.  He used to wash her in Jeyes fluid and so was rescued and given to Logan's cousin.  After a while they had to give her away because the flat they moved into did not allow cats, so we took her.  She dissapeared once for 2 months.  One night I heard Kyle crying (he was still a baby then) and I went to see if he was ok.  There was Ticks, purring and meowing.  She was so thin but we were very happy to see her.

Aidan is participating in the end of year concert at his school in a few days.  We had a dress rehearsal today.  He is going to be a little dutch boy.

The weaver birds have been hard at work around here.  Luckily this little guy only had to make two nests before his wife was happy.  When I still lived with my mom we kept count on a bird outside her kitchen window.  He pulled down 17 nests before he got it right.

Orin found my 3D glasses from when we went to watch Monsters vs. Aliens.

Consider the lilies of the field,
How they grow, how they grow.
Consider the birds in the sky,
How they fly, how they fly.
He clothes the lilies of the field.
He feeds the birds in the sky
And He will feed those who trust Him,
And guide them with His eye.

Consider the sheep of His fold,
How they follow where He leads.
Though the path may wind across the mountains,
He knows the meadows where they feed.
He clothes the lilies of the field.
He feeds the birds in the sky,
And He will feed those who trust Him,
And guide them with His eye.

Consider the sweet, tender children
Who must suffer on this earth.
The pains of all of them
He carried from the day of His birth.
He clothes the lilies of the field,
He feeds the lambs in His fold,
And He will heal those who trust Him,
And make their hearts as gold.

Double Decker Pram.  Orin often climbs into the bottom of Jesse's pram.  He loves it.

Logan found a hornet's nest in a drain pipe today.  Last week I got stung by a bee and so this strikes fear in me :-)

Lunar landing OR ........rain from the roof falling on the sand in our back yard.

Jesse in his cot. Alot of his dark hair has fallen out and there is blonde hair growing underneath.  I am sure he will eventually be as blonde as his brother's were.

I love showering with Dad!  Couldn't capture the moment, but Jesse loves the shower.  He will lie on Logan's shoulder and enjoy the water.

Blurry photo of the view from our back door.  We really are so blessed to see such beautiful sunsets from our  own yard.

Not the best photo and certainly not tidy!  The children put Flushed Away on and were dancing to the music.

Highveld Storm from our back door.
It's gonna take a lot to take me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa

In my pyjamas at a make shift desk checking out my new laptop.

This is a photo I took of Logan with the hiccups.  Unfortunately in South Africa our bandwidth is capped (THAN YOU TELKOM) and uploading videos chews it up very quickly.  Anyway, back to the hiccups.......every now and then Logan gets an attack of hiccups when he tries to clear his throat.  I was hounding him with the camera because it is very cute!

Spent the afternoon scrubbing wax crayon marks out with a bicarbonate of soda paste.  It really works!

25 October, 2009

So....thanks to a certain little 2 year old, I now have crayon drawings all over my house.

24 October, 2009

Logan made us pizza.  And I realise the picture needs to be rotated.  I also realise that today I don't care :-)
